Re “Plan for Drug Tests Dropped,” April 10: It has been eight years since I graduated from high school. I’m aware that some things have changed, but others haven’t. Parents should be more worried about alcohol, rather than focusing all their attention on drugs. Binge drinking doesn’t start in college; high school parties are where it all begins.

Parents beware, your son or daughter is more likely to engage in sex, get in car wrecks and do or say just about anything while intoxicated. Why is alcohol always overlooked? Oh yeah, because this drug is legal.
