USA Water Polo Lawsuit Is Settled

Share

Officials for USA Water Polo Inc. and the Southern Section announced Wednesday the settlement of a lawsuit between the parties. The USAWP had brought the suit against the section last year in an effort to end the section’s “association rule,” which limits contact between high school coaches and their players outside the sports season.

The settlement calls for a limited waiver of the rule to allow USAWP to select a reasonable number of coaches to be involved in its pipeline programs, including the national youth and junior teams. This includes the selection process, training and competition for those teams.
