Fleishman-Hillard Names VP
* John Stodder Jr. has joined the public relations firm of Fleishman-Hillard Inc. as senior vice president and head of its public affairs practice in Los Angeles. Stodder has been a senior executive at Edelman Public Affairs Worldwide in Los Angeles since 1994. At Fleishman-Hillard, Stodder will be responsible for public affairs, issues management, environmental consulting and crisis public relations.
* Jill Smoller has joined the William Morris Agency as vice president and will head a new division to handle sports marketing. Smoller, who left Michael Ovitz’s AMG, will be responsible for on- and off-field representation including motion picture, television, commercial, licensing, broadcast and sponsorship opportunities for athletes and other sports figures. Smoller’s clients include Pete Sampras, Rick Fox and Serena Williams.
* Gary Wertz has been promoted to president of Ossur North America, an Aliso Viejo-based medical devices manufacturer.
* Scott Hudson has joined Isuppli, an El Segundo-based provider of supply chain services, as a principal analyst. He is a former market researcher at IDC.
* LeeAnne Stables has joined TrizecHahn Development Corp. as chief marketing officer of its Hollywood & Highland retail entertainment complex. She is a former marketing executive at Sega GameWorks.
* Manuel Remon has been named senior vice president/marketing director and Joseph Arco has been named senior vice president/portfolio manager of First Bank & Trust’s new Hispanic Business Group. The executives will be based in Woodland Hills.
* Bart Greenberg has joined Yamaha Electronics Corp. in Buena Park as national sales manager for its video products. He is a former sales executive at Sharp Electronics.
* Lisa Munro has been promoted to manager of brand marketing for El Pollo Loco Inc., the Irvine-based fast-food operator.
* Jeff Coleman has been promoted to executive vice president, worldwide feature physical production, of MGM Pictures and United Artists. He will oversee all aspects of production from inception through post-production for the two film units of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.
* Shelley Santo has joined Tishman Construction Corp. of California as director of business development.
* Mike Smith has joined Ware Malcomb, an Irvine-based architectural firm, as director, science and technology. He is a former principal of Hok.
* Jim Lawrence has been promoted to executive vice president and Richard Roderick to senior vice president of Lockton Insurance Brokers Inc. in Los Angeles.
* David Danon has been promoted to vice president, guest entertainment, of Universal Studios Hollywood. He will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the theme park.
* Chuck Morales has joined Roel Construction Co. of Irvine as a business development specialist with special emphasis on the automotive building industry. He is formerly of Alexander Development of Pomona.
