Irresponsible Power

Share

Residential consumers of electricity are still being urged to conserve electricity via high-profile advertising campaigns; now, construction of new power plants is put on hold because of “lowered demand” and “falling prices” (July 30).

The private corporations that caused the California “energy crisis” of 2000 aren’t making the money they once were with electricity shell games and have again found a way to keep prices artificially inflated. Why, in this brave new era of corporate responsibility, is this being allowed to happen?
