Arts Group Gives $140,000 in Grants

The Alliance for the Arts has awarded more than $140,000 in grants to 32 local arts and community groups to assist them in staging performances at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, for which it raises funds.

Among the larger grants are $13,000 to the New West Symphony, $12,500 to Cabrillo Music Theatre, $10,000 to the Ventura County superintendent of schools office, $8,500 to Performances to Grow On, $6,500 to the Kingsmen Shakespeare Co. and $5,000 to the KCLU Jazz Concerts Committee.

Other recipients include Casa Pacifica, the Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, the Conejo Teen Video Festival Committee and the Oak Park High School Performing Arts Academy.
