More Remains Found on Civil War Wreck
From Times Wire Reports
Human remains were found in the gun turret of the Civil War ship Monitor, two days after the 140-year-old relic was raised from the Atlantic Ocean floor off North Carolina, project officials said.
The bones, along with buttons and a pocketknife, were found by workers clearing the turret. Portions of another skeleton were found Sunday.
Sixteen men died when the Monitor sank during a storm in December 1862.
