Affordable Child Care
The kidnapping of 4-year-old Jessica Cortez brings to light the nasty truth of Los Angeles (Aug. 13-15). A 4-and 5-year-old are left to fend for themselves in a park near their parents’ work because their family is too poor to be able to afford child care. The substandard conditions that many Angelenos face also put children at risk.
