Kilroy Effort to Block Office Park Rejected

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has rejected Kilroy Realty Corp.’s legal effort to block rival developer Thomas Properties Group from building a $500-million corporate office park in El Segundo.

Superior Court Judge David Yaffe in his final ruling dismissed charges that the city of El Segundo had not, among other things, fully studied the environmental and traffic impact of the proposed El Segundo Corporate Campus at Nash Street and Mariposa Avenue or allowed for sufficient public comment.

An official with Los Angeles-based Kilroy said its attorneys have recommended appealing the decision but the company has not yet made a decision to do so.

The legal decision comes only two months after Kilroy and its supporters tried but failed to overturn the city’s approval of the project in a special referendum. Kilroy owns an office complex near the proposed Thomas Properties development.
