Public Prayer
Re “Court Hears Appeal of Burbank Prayer Ruling,” Aug. 23: Where are the defenders of American culture and tradition? Let us not be so hasty to abandon our “firm Reliance on ... Divine Providence,” stated at the end of the Declaration of Independence. How can you, an American, be offended when I say, “God, please bless America, in Jesus’ name”? Why should we hate those who appeal to their God on our behalf?
