2 Held in Connection With Holdup at Store
Two Pacoima men remained in jail Wednesday after being arrested a day earlier on suspicion of robbing a Simi Valley Smart & Final outlet of an undisclosed sum of money, police said.
Marco Miranda, 30, allegedly entered the store in the 1800 block of Erringer Road about 2 p.m. Tuesday holding a shotgun and demanding money from two cashiers, police said.
After being handed the cash, Miranda ran outside to a stolen car allegedly driven by Jose Rojas, 23, police said. The men led police on a brief chase that ended at a nearby shopping center.
One suspect was arrested outside a Target store and the other inside a Mervyn’s department store. No one was injured, but several dozen shoppers fled Mervyn’s when police stormed in.
Police recovered money and a shotgun.
