Marriott Reaches Deal With Union in S.F.
Marriott International Inc. reached an agreement with a union representing workers at a hotel in downtown San Francisco, capping six years of talks between the union and the largest U.S. hotel company.
The agreement includes annual wage increases for the hotel’s 900 workers, expands benefits for part-time employees and reduces the work required of room cleaners. Union members will vote on the contract Sept. 12, said Mike Casey, president of the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union Local 2.
Shares of the Bethesda, Md.-based firm fell 26 cents to $33.15 on the NYSE.
