Williams Cos., the second-largest U.S. pipeline company, laid off 110 people amid a slump in energy trading.

Williams cut jobs in its information technology and energy-trading units, spokeswoman Paula Hall-Collins said. The Tulsa, Okla.-based company said this month it would fire 330 other workers. Williams has about 12,000 employees.

Shares of Williams dropped 24 cents, or 7%, to $3.15 on the NYSE.
