Humans, Not Birds, Are Biggest Polluters

Re “Look! Up in the Sky! Polluters,” Nov. 24:

I want to address the reader who wrote this letter. I am truly amused by this reader’s comments regarding birds in the sky as polluters. Wow! Should we just go ahead and destroy their habitat or kill all living creatures other than us humans who eliminate? I really don’t see how birds are of great concern to the environment. Do birds cause the closure of our state beaches? It seems to me that humans are the greatest single cause of the pollution of our seas, land and air. Should we also reduce human habitats in order to reduce contaminants?
