It’s vintage Pasadena
This recently refurbished estate in Pasadena has a vineyard that produces about 500 bottles of red wine a year. Wine from the grapes grown here won an award this fall at the Rancho Cucamonga Wine Festival.
The vineyard has been a hobby of Mark Beck, a white-collar criminal defense lawyer, and his wife, psychotherapist Bonnie Saland. The couple have owned the property for 14 years.
About this house: Designed by Seymour Locke in 1895, the 104-year-old home is a mix of Craftsman and Victorian styles. It was one of the first houses in the country to have an attached garage, according to a 1907 story in the Ladies Home Journal titled “Moving the Car Into the House.”
The home was also an early gathering place for Tournament of Roses dignitaries.
The house has been used in many movies, including “Father of the Bride” (1991).

Size: The house has five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in 6,180 square feet. The lot is 27,600 square feet.
Features: The gated estate has stone walkways and walls, which enclose the gardens and vineyard.
The home also has a view across the Arroyo Seco, five fireplaces, an enclosed gazebo and a wine cellar. Among its modern amenities are central air-conditioning and a security system.
