Ex-Cali Cartel Leader Extradited to U.S.

A former Colombian drug lord who was a leader of the infamous Cali cocaine cartel was extradited to Florida to face charges of money laundering and conspiracy to ship cocaine to the United States.
Victor Patino Fomeque, aka “the Chemist,” was once the No. 5 boss of the now-defunct cartel.
Patino Fomeque turned himself in to Colombian authorities in 1995, before extradition was legalized. He was freed on parole last year but rearrested eight months ago.
