Jury Convicts Man of Killing 12-Year-Old

A 22-year-old man was convicted by a Superior Court jury Monday of fatally shooting a 12-year-old boy last year after an argument with his girlfriend at a barbecue in Alhambra.
Daniel Arzaga of Whittier was found guilty of second-degree murder in the killing of Timothy Koppos. He also was found guilty of two counts of attempted murder in connection with shooting Colleen Koppos, his girlfriend, who was the boy’s sister, and their grandmother, Bertha Tate.
Arzaga, who faces life in prison, is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 10.
