Microsoft Corp. said six versions of its Windows operating system are susceptible to a “critical” bug that can allow online attackers to take over customers’ personal computers. The vulnerability lies within “virtual machine” features that Microsoft includes in Windows to run commands based on the Java programming language.

Japanese automaker Honda Motor Co. plans to add a sports car to its U.S. Acura line to expand sales of the luxury brand. The car, to be based on the European version of the Accord sedan, is expected next year.

* German media firm KirchMedia signed a $500-million deal giving it the rights to Paramount Pictures Corp.’s film library through 2011. The library includes offerings such as “Vanilla Sky” and the “Star Trek” television series, the company’s bankruptcy administrator said. KirchMedia includes a majority stake in television group ProSiebenSat.1, the country’s second-largest private broadcaster. Creditors agreed at the end of October to sell KirchMedia to Heinrich Bauer Verlag.
