From Times Wire Reports

Nobel peace laureate Elie Wiesel urged a strong punishment for former Bosnian Serb leader Biljana Plavsic, telling the U.N. war crimes tribunal at The Hague that the sentence will set a standard for centuries.

“If all the pain and suffering of all the victims were to be placed on one set of scales, how many years of prison would it take on the other to achieve justice?” the Nazi death camp survivor asked.

Plavsic has pleaded guilty to persecuting Muslims and Croats during Bosnia-Herzegovina’s 1992-95 war.
