Mortgage Rates Drop for Second Straight Week

Mortgage rates fell for the second straight week, with rates on one-year adjustable-rate mortgages dropping to 4.07%, the lowest level since Freddie Mac began tracking them in 1984.

The average interest rate on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages dipped to 6.03% for the week ending today, down slightly from the previous week’s 6.04%.

Rates on 15-year fixed-rate mortgages, a popular option for refinancing, fell this week to 5.42% from 5.46%.
