Check Out Designated Area Before Judging

I sincerely hope fate never puts Mr. Chiu in the position of having to “find ways to adapt to the society as a whole” as he so arrogantly suggests those with disabilities do (“Ruling Affects Not Just the Disabled,” Letters, Dec. 15).

I invite him to watch a movie from the seating area that stadium theaters provide for wheelchair users, in front of the front row and below the bottom of the screen, and see how well he adapts to it.

Many movie theaters manage to feature superb access for physically challenged patrons with little fuss or untoward expense.

If the designers of stadium theaters had included accessibility among their priorities at the outset, the problem wouldn’t exist.
