Fighting between Marxist rebels and a right-wing paramilitary group has killed at least 50 people, mostly rightists, Colombia’s army said. The clashes took place near the village of San Pablo, about 200 miles north of the capital, Bogota.

The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, attacked a camp of the Bolivar Central Block, a military official said. Fleeing peasants reported bodies lying in the jungle.
