It’s Time to Add a Shot of Spring Color to Bare Patches

Share

Garden Jobs

If there are still any bare spots in the garden where you would like spring color, don’t hesitate to pop in plants already in bloom at nurseries in 4-inch or quart pots. Pansies are particularly long-lived and planted now will last into early summer.

This is also a great month to plant those towering delphiniums from 4-inch pots. Add a little soil polymer (add water to the polymer before using it) and slow-release fertilizer, such as Osmocote, to the bottom of each hole. Delphiniums appreciate the additional fertilizer and water stored in these high-tech products.
