Ford Motor Co. agreed to pay an undisclosed amount to settle a suit brought by a woman who was paralyzed after her Explorer sport-utility vehicle rolled over.

Ford settled the suit the day before Felicia Lajeunesse, 36, was to testify, said Craig McClellan, her lawyer. The jury trial in San Diego Superior Court began Jan. 7. The settlement prohibited the parties from disclosing its terms.

The case didn’t involve allegations of a faulty Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. tire.

Ford shares rose 43 cents to $14.53 on the NYSE.
