Home-Buying Seminar Planned Wednesday

Ventura County residents interested in buying their first home, especially those who have not saved a sufficient down payment, are invited to a seminar Wednesday. Co-sponsored by the county’s Area Housing Authority and the city of Simi Valley, a “School of Homebuying” course will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in the City Hall Community Room, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road.
Topics will include the “Fresh Start” down-payment grant program, under which households with an annual income of no more than $82,200 can receive a grant of up to 4% of the first mortgage.
Camarillo, Fillmore, Ojai, Port Hueneme, Moorpark, Santa Paula, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and unincorporated portions of the county participate in the program.
