Mental Problem Alleged in Cockpit Door Case
Doctors who examined a Uruguayan accused of storming the cockpit of a United Airlines passenger jet last week said he suffered a mental breakdown on the plane, his lawyer said in Miami.
Pablo Moreira Mosca, 29, faces a charge of interfering with a flight crew after allegedly crashing through the reinforced cockpit door on a flight from Miami to Buenos Aires, an incident that stirred new fears about air safety after the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S.
His bail hearing was postponed indefinitely because he changed lawyers.
