Arizona State Defeats USC, 67-60

Melody Johnson scored 21 points Thursday to lead Arizona State to a 67-60 victory over USC at Tempe, Ariz.

The game stayed close in the first half until Arizona State used a 12-2 run to go up 29-18 with 3:56 to play in the first 20 minutes.

Johnson scored 16 points in the first half to give the Sun Devils to a 35-27 halftime lead.

Arizona State’s Betsy Boardman had three steals over the final four minutes and the Sun Devils scored 11 of the last 17 points of the half en route to the victory. Rachel Woodward USC with 14 points.

Arizona 77, UCLA 62--Elizabeth Pickney scored 19 points at Tucson, Ariz. for the Wildcats (13-12, 9-7), who used a 25-4 run to start the second half to take control. Whitney Jones made four three-point baskets and finished with 15 points for UCLA (7-17, 3-12).
