Avocado Crop Suffers Minimal Wind Damage

Fears of widespread wind damage to Ventura County’s avocado crop failed to materialize as last weekend’s strong Santa Anas caused only minimal damage to most groves.

While some avocado farmers reported significant losses, Deputy Agricultural Commissioner David Buettner said losses overall were not large enough to tally a dollar value or seek disaster relief.
