Paying for Local Mailings in the Race for Supervisor
I read with interest a letter to the editor by Jim McHarg of Thousand Oaks, questioning a letter I sent out critical of Linda Parks. McHarg stated that the letter was sent out using taxpayer funds. Perhaps a closer examination of the facts is warranted.
The letter is clearly marked as being paid for and sent by Randy Hoffman for Supervisor, a fact McHarg failed to mention. Taxpayers did not spend one cent on this mailing.
I find it interesting that McHarg chose to question my letter of support for Hoffman and not defend Parks’ liberal record in Thousand Oaks. There was no mention of the tens of thousands of dollars spent on anger management training during Parks’ term on the City Council, nor was there any mention of her voting nine times out of 10 against businesses wishing to locate in the Conejo Valley, costing us new jobs in our community.
Even more astonishing, McHarg doesn’t stand up for the fact that Parks’ poor leadership has cost Thousand Oaks taxpayers over $1 million.
Perhaps next time, before leveling accusations, McHarg will read his mail a little more closely.
