Aid and Comfort to Afghanistan

Share

For over 20 years in the mountains and deserts of Afghanistan, bombs have been exploding daily. Each bomb creates an echo that is distinguishable from the one before. Each bomb is capable of destroying human life as well as life in other forms. But it is the silent bombs that have been destroying families.

These bombs don’t have an echo, they don’t have a smell, nor can they be detected by radar. These bombs are the cries of the innocent children of Afghanistan who have been falling into graves for years. The only footprint they leave behind is a small piece of stone indicating that it is the grave of an innocent child and a helpless, shattered family. These kids are dying of malnutrition, lack of food, lack of vaccinations, injuries and other types of preventable diseases.

The World Economic Forum that met recently in New York and the international organizations are trying to help to control this situation but, unfortunately, time is running out for most of these kids. The current interim government needs to take this issue very seriously by providing security and full assistance to these organizations. Any delay in this matter could jeopardize the future of Afghanistan.
