FTC Says Firms’ Claims Are Misleading

The Federal Trade Commission accused two companies of wrongfully claiming that their products protect users from electromagnetic radiation emitted by cellular phones.
Stock Value 1 Inc., based in Boca Raton, Fla., and Comstar Communications Inc., based in West Sacramento, Calif., said their products block up to 97% of radiation and other electromagnetic energy. The two closely held companies have no evidence to support those claims, the FTC said.
