Mortgage Rates Below 7% for Third Week

Rates on 30-year mortgages stayed below the 7% mark for the third week in a row, according to a nationwide survey.
Freddie Mac, the mortgage company, reported that the average interest rate dipped to 6.81%, down from 6.86% the previous week.
Fifteen-year mortgages, a popular option for refinancing, slipped to 6.28% from 6.35% the week before.
