Measure Would Impose Computer Disposal Fee

Computer makers would be required to charge consumers a fee for each computer monitor sold in California to help pay for disposing of the equipment under two bills introduced by state lawmakers.
One bill proposes that electronics companies charge a recycling fee for monitors and televisions much like the fee to recycle aluminum cans. The other would require companies to recycle the equipment themselves or pay a fee.
