Council OKs Sale of Land for Business Park
Paving the way for development of a large business park, the Los Angeles City Council gave final approval Tuesday to the sale of the former Branford Landfill and an adjacent Sanitation Bureau yard.
The council agreed to sell the 20 acres of city land for $2.25 million to SunQuest Development, which will build 550,000 square feet of commercial and industrial space on part of the property.
Council President Alex Padilla supported the project in his district, an aide said, “because it will help bring much-needed jobs and economic prosperity to an economically challenged area of the northeast Valley.”
