Municipalities Say State Growth Estimate Wrong

Local governments voted Wednesday to fight a state demand that they plan for explosive growth in the next seven years.
City and county representatives called the requirement to plan for 22,460 new homes by 2008 illegal, unrealistic and unfair.
The San Luis Obispo Council of Governments voted 6 to 5 to send a response that focuses on the unfairness of the requirements.
