Council Raises Reward for Graffiti Information

From Times Staff Reports

The City Council voted Wednesday to increase to $1,000 the reward offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of graffiti vandals.

Councilman Dennis Zine’s motion to increase the reward from $500 was approved unanimously without discussion.

The motion was motivated in part by an increase since November of graffiti in the Sherman Way Corridor in Canoga Park, said Martha Waltz, Zine’s communications director. Much of the vandalism was caused with a glass etching cream, which causes damage that can’t be removed, Waltz said.
