Child-Support Forum to Assist Employers
A forum on court-ordered child-support actions will be held Wednesday for local employers involved in garnisheeing wages.
The free event will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Residence Inn by Marriott at River Ridge in Oxnard. Curtis Child, director of the California Department of Child Support Services, will speak at the forum, sponsored by the Ventura County district attorney’s office.
Wage garnishments accounted for nearly 60% of the $50 million collected in local child-support payments last year, according to officials.
The meeting will be aimed at updating employers on the latest regulations affecting child support. For reservations, call 648-9366.
