Tom Kite completed a wire-to-wire victory in the PGA Senior Tour’s MasterCard Championship on Sunday, shooting a five-under-par 67 to beat John Jacobs by six strokes at Kaupulehu-Kona, Hawaii.

Kite, 52, birdied seven of the final 15 holes to finish at 17-under 199. Jacobs shot a 68.

Bobby Wadkins shot a 68 to finish third, seven strokes behind.

Kite played the wind successfully by using his accurate iron-play to reach the greens. He’s the top player in greens in regulation since joining the senior tour.

Kite three-putted the first hole for a bogey, but quickly recovered. His only other bogey was on No. 8.

Justin Rose of England shot a seven-under 65 to win the Dunhill Championship at Johannesburg, South Africa, by two strokes for his first European PGA Tour victory.

Rose finished at 20-under 268. He tied for fourth in the 1998 British Open as a 17-year-old amateur, then immediately turned pro and missed the cut in his first 22 tournaments.

Retief Goosen closed with a 65 to share second place with England’s Mark Foster, who shot a final-round 69 and South Africa’s Martin Maritz, who had a 71.
