New Republic Owner Brings in Partners
Associated Press
Martin Peretz, owner of the New Republic, said he has brought in two partners to share ownership of the weekly opinion magazine.
Peretz said he recently reached an agreement with financiers Roger Hertog and Michael Steinhardt under which each partner will own one-third of the 88-year-old magazine. Peretz said he will retain complete editorial control of the magazine. Peretz declined to say how much money the two partners were investing, though he described the amount as “a lot.”
