Responsible Party
Civilized people do not shoot wildly into the air when celebrating a happy occasion (“U.S. Raid on Village Raises Hard Questions,” July 5). When people of a war-torn country--occupied by foreign forces--celebrate a happy occasion they should be doubly cautious. Our troops are not out to shoot women and children. They are trained to shoot at anyone who shoots at them first. This is war. The people who were celebrating are responsible. They jeopardized their people’s as well as our troops’ safety.
