Warning Sirens at Dam to Be Tested Today
From Times Staff Reports
The county’s Office of Emergency Services will test its 11 emergency warning sirens at Casitas Dam beginning at noon today.
For 10 minutes, a series of chimes, sirens and voice test messages will be heard in the area, stretching from Casitas Springs south along Ventura Avenue to the ocean.
The voice messages will be in English and Spanish.
The test is one of four conducted throughout the year. The next test is scheduled for October.
