From Times Wire Reports

Angry crowds have blocked traffic and clashed with police as power blackouts hit the Indian capital for the 10th straight day, officials said.

New Delhi’s power crisis began July 1, when the government privatized electricity distribution. Blackouts of up to 14 hours have been reported in the capital.

In the areas of New Delhi worst hit by blackouts, people erected blockades and paralyzed traffic for several hours Wednesday. Some residents skirmished with police, but no injuries were reported, a police spokesman said.
