A reputed member of the Mexican Mafia was sentenced Friday to 20 years in prison for his role in a drug-trafficking case that led to the seizure of $35 million worth of cocaine in 1998.

Art Romo, 40, pleaded guilty to conspiring to furnish more than 176 pounds of cocaine for drug distributors in Orange County.

He is also awaiting sentencing for violating the conditions of his parole on a federal sentence for money laundering, officials said.
