Search for Man Lost in Nevada Desert Called Off
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Nevada authorities called off the search for a Fairfield man who may have become lost in the desert after his sport utility vehicle broke down.
Carl Sanders has been missing since July 7. He and wife Debra ran out of gas near Potts Springs, Nev. The couple, in their 40s, walked in temperatures reaching 125 degrees and became separated.
A motorist found a delirious Debra Sanders two days later.
“I can remember watching him praying for guidance,” Debra Sanders said Wednesday. “He’d walk, then start throwing up.”
