From Times Staff Reports

Los Angeles City Council members will take their show on the road, meeting away from City Hall at least 15 times every two years.

The council has periodically met in members’ districts, but Tuesday’s unanimous vote formalized the practice, which will begin in July 2003.

The council adds its name to a list of city panels such as the Los Angeles Board of Education that occasionally meet away from their home chambers.

City-owned facilities will be the preferred sites.

It will cost $5,000 to $10,000 to move the council and to broadcast each meeting.
