A Wednesday morning crackdown on cross-mountain commuters for traffic violations resulted in 334 citations and 15 impounded cars, said Los Angeles City Councilman Jack Weiss.

The sweep involved more than 30 Los Angeles Police Department officers patrolling Laurel Canyon and Beverly Glen boulevards as well as Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Benedict Canyon Drive--all of which are in residential areas used by cut-through traffic, said Weiss, whose office helped coordinate the crackdown.
