Not the Best Depiction of Illegal Immigrants

Re “Illegal Immigrants’ Best Form of ID Is Ingenuity,” May 12:

Your article provided an interesting peek into how some illegal immigrants live. Being an immigrant myself (albeit a legal one), I have always had a lot of sympathy for the hard-working Mexican nationals who richly contribute to the fabric of our society.

However, it is hard for me to conjure up much sympathy for people who “eke out” a living on about $44,000 net cash income per year, pay less for a house per month than most people pay for apartment rentals and endanger others while driving uninsured.

They live a safer and better life in America than they did in their native land, stay here illegally for 10 years but complain about having been “carded” at a casino in Las Vegas due to their perceived discrimination against illegal aliens. Something in your picture does not add up, and it is called credibility. In my opinion, you picked the wrong family to depict the plight of the illegal Mexican migrants.
