I just read “In Jittery Gaza, Till Peace Do They Stay Apart” (June 3), about Palestinians in the Gaza Strip who cannot plan weddings or find jobs. No mention was made of the Palestinian suicide bombers who blew up wedding halls, icecream parlors, markets, billiard parlors, buses, Seders, etc., in Israel. Am I supposed to feel sorry for these people who feel solidarity with suicidal maniacs but not for innocent people who, if they survive, have nails and screws embedded in their bodies and brains for life?

The Times’ reporting should be more balanced and objective. Your reporter might have explained that they are not working because of the Palestinian terrorist attacks. The checkpoints have been established (as well as the shut-off of Palestinian workers in Israel) to protect the lives of Israelis.
