A Man of ‘Unrelenting Optimism’

I met [writer] Richard Quinn (“A Screenplay in Search of a Better Ending,” by James Ricci, Metropolis, May 12) in 1982. Considering what fate dealt him, he never ceased to amaze me with his sense of humor and curiosity. Perhaps his only real fault was his mostly unrelenting optimism in the face of the “Hollywood system.”Michael D. Nye
