Police say they have caught a man they nicknamed the “Spider-Man” burglar because of his habit of slipping through skylights and ventilation shafts. He is a suspect in 55 break-ins.

Officers found Kristian Kwon Marine, 25, hiding in the crawl space of a market Wednesday. A police spokesman said the part-time fitness club worker stole to support a severe gambling habit.

One building that Marine is accused of robbing required him to leap a 10-foot span to get in. Police said he used power cords and garden hoses to slide down to the floors of the buildings.

Police said they believe Marine has broken into 55 buildings in the past two months. He faces 63 charges, including burglary and attempted burglary, as well as two counts of receiving stolen property.
