70,000 Attend Concert by Warlord’s Widow
From Times Wire Reports
More than 70,000 people sang and danced for three hours at a concert in Belgrade, the Serbian and Yugoslav capital, put on by Serbia’s hottest folk star and devoted to her late husband, Zeljko “Arkan” Raznatovic, once a top war crimes suspect.
Svetlana “Ceca” Raznatovic, widow of a warlord many Serbs still see as a hero, said she was singing “for my husband, Zeljko, for Belgrade, for Serbia.”
Arkan was shot to death in a Belgrade hotel in 2000.
